Scratch-made baked goods, desserts and other sweet little things from the Glad Alice side of InnaCup.

Two grandmothers. One sweet legacy.

The Story of Glad Alice

Glad Alice begins with two women: Gladys and Alice—Sarah’s grandmothers.

They came from two sides of her family and had two very different ways of making a life through food. Together, they helped shape the woman, entrepreneur, and baker their granddaughter would one day become.

Grandmother No. 1

Gladys

The Hospitality Heart

Sarah’s paternal grandmother, Gladys, was the hospitality heart of the family. She had roots in the ice cream and donut business and later spent more than twenty years running a made-to-order restaurant alongside her twin daughters—Sarah’s aunts.

Her world was filled with customers, family, conversation, and food made for the person standing on the other side of the counter.

And then there were her pies.

Homemade, familiar, and meant to be shared, Gladys’s pies became part of Sarah’s memories of her grandmother—and, many years later, part of the inspiration for what would become GladAlice.

Grandmother No. 2

Alice

The Entrepreneurial Spark

Sarah’s maternal grandmother, Alice, brought a different kind of magic.

Long before food trucks were fashionable, Alice was running one at local auctions. She understood the beautiful choreography behind a food business: work quickly, stay organized, keep track of inventory and money, let people know what you’re selling, and never let efficiency become an excuse for sacrificing quality.

Two grandmothers. Two very different women.

And two examples of what it meant to build something of your own.

“Sweet-and-spicy entrepreneurial grandmothers.”

Together, Gladys and Alice left their granddaughter something much bigger than a collection of recipes.

They taught her that food could be a livelihood, an act of hospitality, a creative pursuit, and—perhaps most importantly—a reason for people to gather.

Years later, Sarah carried those lessons with her when she created InnaCup,
a gluten-free, plant-based dessert café built around a simple belief:

More people deserve to be included when something delicious is being passed around the table.

So, when it came time to give a name to InnaCup’s collection of nostalgic, bakery-style favorites, there really was only one choice:

Gladys + Alice =

Today, Glad Alice carries their names on pies, breads, cakes, muffins, and other familiar comforts—made in a new way for a new generation and for a table with room for more people.

They aren’t necessarily Grandma’s old recipes.

They’re something even closer to the heart of it:

Grandma’s purpose, carried forward.
Good food. Hard work. A little ingenuity. And always another reason to gather around the table.
